Hi I am Anne Nysom
the face and founder behind By Nysom.
I am a danish woman living in New Zealand and the country’s landscapes have played an important part in why I started By Nysom.
In 2019 I did a Working Holiday Visa in New Zealand, and it was on this trip that my photography developed exponentially. That trip also gave me the confidence to reach out to my first paid customer back in 2020. This led to a working relationship that lasted 3 years and the start of my danish portrait photography business. After years running my own business, a new dream about living in New Zealand became a reality, but I never let go of the idea of re-starting my business. That is where I am today.
I started By Nysom because I knew it was the right direction for me. This time around I started a business around my love for photography and the outdoors, and that’s why I specialise in outdoor and tourism photography and also UGC. Nature has always been my biggest inspiration and getting to work with brands and destinations that love and care for nature the way I do is truly amazing.

Photo & video in one shooting
One brief, one shoot, one person. I deliver both photos and video from the same shoot, so your content looks like it belongs together and you only have one contact to coordinate with.
Contracts & licences
Before we start, I walk you through the contract and licence in plain language: what the material can be used for, where, and for how long. We agree on it together, so you know where we stand.
Background in Film
I have a film degree from Potemkin, The Film School of Jutland, where I learned everything from storyboarding to sound and editing. I use that when I plan and shoot, and I handle the whole production myself, so your videos build one storyline instead of ending up as separate clips.
Marketing background
In January 2027 I will have completed a bachelor’s degree in International Sales and Marketing, which means we speak the same language. I plan every shoot around where the material will be used. A hero image for your website needs space for text, while a video for socials needs to work in vertical format and grab attention in the first few seconds. So I shoot for both before I leave the location.
On location anywhere
I often travel and go out exploring New Zealand and the world. I am happy to travel to you or bring your product with me on my trips. That means your products can be featured in many different environments, settings and landscapes. From hiking to the top of Tugela Falls in South Africa, to sailing across the Ross Sea in Antarctica.

I am based in Morrinsville, New Zealand but I often travel around New Zealand and explore the world. I have been to 25 different countries so far. My trips overseas often take me past my home country of Denmark to all corners of the globe. So with me, your products can be showcased in multiple countries and landscapes around the world.
